LAND MANAGEMENT
Land admeasuring 2933 hectares (consisting of 1169 hectares Private land, and 1764 hectares of Govt. Land) was acquired by the Government through CIDCO for the Construction of the Port in the Year 1984.
This entire land was situated in 12 revenue villages of Uran Taluka of Raigad District of State of Maharashtra. The private land admeasuring 1169 hectares was acquired from 10469 local land owner farmers, under the Land Acquisition Act 1894.
In order to achieve optimum and effective utilisation of land resource and to harness maximum potential of Port related activities and services, the JN Port undertook an extensive drive to Audit and Upgrade the Land Management System. The Port upgraded all land records and prepared an exhaustive digital Joint Map with reference to upgraded land record.
The Port has also prepared a list of 10,469 PAPs to assess and facilitate the allotment of developed plots of land, as a package deal under the rehabilitation of JNP PAPs under 12.5% land allotment scheme. The implementation of the said scheme is in progress.
In 2015, the JN Port also undertook a detailed GPS / GIS survey of the entire Port land admeasuring 2933 hectors and also the reclaimed land of 198 hectors including berthing area. The GPS / GIS mapping will facilitate scientific land use planning for the future development projects of the Port and optimum utilisation of available land resource. This will not only help sustainable growth of the Port but also conserve and protect the environment.
The JN Port has employed the best practices and technology to achieve most efficient, effective and scientific management of its land recourse and will continue the same in future with advent of new technologies.
