JNPA’s participation in some major development projects are as below

Shiv Chatrapati Pratisthan
Vocational Training Programmed for Rural, Tribal and Urban areas with focus on minorities SC, ST, OBC, Economically Weaker and Person with disability (PWD) sections of society.

The Jan Shikshan Sansthan, has a presence of more than 14 years and has good experience in the field. It is a Voluntary Organization affiliated to Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. The organization has imparted more than 40 types of vocational courses to train 27,988 candidates by 60 trainers in twelve years and has imparted doorstep training in more than 1000 villages including remote areas of 15 Tehsils. In last three years Jan Shikshan Sansthan, Raigad has covered 5760 beneficiaries. The Port had approved a grant of 50 Lakhs to the Organisation for the Skill Development Trainings for 1000 Beneficiaries in Raigad.

JNPA Contributes to Rain Water harvesting, conservation, storage project

JNPA in association with Sadbhavana Gramin Vikas Sanstha, Wardha, Maharashtra took up an innovative project for Rain Water Harvesting, conservation, storage and Groundwater recharge at Moti Nala, Village Mandwa in Wardha District.

In the project widening of the water-body was carried out without disturbing its natural course and silt was removed to increase the depth up to 3 meters. Additionally, Structures were built upstream to prevent flooding and a Plantation drive was carried out to prevent soil erosion and further silting of the water body. The total capacity of the Nalla has been increased and the groundwater has been recharged because of which more land has been brought under agriculture. The project will also prevent annual flooding in the area. Through this project, an entire community has been rehabilitated and the household income of the villagers has also increased.

JNPA Contributes for the Khadakwasla Dam

JNPA in association with Green Thumb, Pune has taken up a project for the conservation of Khadakwasla Dam. Green Thumb is an Organisation which is led by retired Officers from the Indian Army and has been working since 1993 in the field of environment protection and promotion of bio-diversity.

JNPA supports Schools for Special Kids

JNPA has also supported 'Suhit Jeevan Trust' which runs the "Sumangal School for Mentally and Multiple Challenged Children" and "Light House Special Teachers Training Centre" at Taluka Pen in District Raigad, Maharashtra. JNPA has provided support to the School for carrying out awareness camps in Raigad District to encourage families in rural areas to enrol their children with disabilities in the school. JNPA is also supporting the development of Sports and Classroom Infrastructure in the School and provision of Transport facility so that children from across Raigad District can be brought to the School.

JNPA partners with Jan Shikshan Sansthan for Skill Development Trainings

JNPA has partnered with Jan Shikshan Sansthan for conducting need-based skill development Training for beneficiaries from 15 Villages in Raigad District. Few of villages that are selected in the Project are Chaul, Alibaug, Jasai, Matheran, Koproli, Chambharli, Tala, Shriwardhan, Pen, Mangaon, Hanuman Koliwada, Tambadshet, Panvel, Khambe, Rajmala. The project will benefit more than 450 beneficiaries in the area.

Contribution to Jalyukt Shivar Yojana for water conservation in Maharashtra

As a part of our CSR activity, JNPA contributed Rs 5.6 cr for the Govt. of Maharashtra’s Jalyukta Shivar Yojana in drought-affected districts in Maharashtra like Nandurbar, Solapur, Usmanabad, Washim, Jalna and Yavatmal . The Jalyukta Shivar Yojana includes activities like desilting, deep CCT, widening and deepening of Nalas/Rivers, hiring of machinery, etc. The work is carried out through the Art of Living (International Association for Human Values) and is supervised by the technical expert committee under the Chairmanship of District Collector.

Regular Health camps for school students, contract workers and truck drivers

The two schools with pre-primary, primary and secondary school, both English and Marathi medium in the Port Township are built to cater to the needs of the children of the port employees and the children of the PAPs, who reside in the nearby villages. A concession of 50% of the fees is being extended to the children of PAPs.

JNPA gave an amount of 1.5cr to Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Maharashtra for construction of Girls Hostel. The above activity falls under the adoption / construction Hostel (especially those for SC / ST and Girls as per CSR guidelines).

Contribution to Hanuman Krida Prasarak Va Bahuuddeshiya Mandal for promotion of sports

JNPA give an amount of 05.00 lakh to Hanuman Krida Prasarak Va Bahuuddeshiya Mandal for the encouragement of rural games special Kabbadi in the Vidharbh Region in Maharashtra. This organisation is working since 75 years and organises state level Kabaddi Tournaments. The above activity falls under the promotion of the sports as per the CSR guidelines.

JNPA give an amount of 5 cr. to Shiv Chatrapati Pratisthan, Pune which is a non-profit organisation. This is mega tourism project which is an exhibit of the historical monuments and the presentation of the major incidents in the life and times of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with the help of latest technology and by ensuring the sanctity of the historical ambience. The above activity falls under the promotion of the art and culture as per the CSR guidelines.

CSR Policy

JNPA through its corporate policy and philosophy has committed itself to social responsibility for the benefit of society at large.

JNPA formulated its CSR policy and earmarked 2% of the net profit of the preceding year towards CSR. The Ministry of Shipping issued guidelines on 2nd December 2011 and 14th June 2013. JNPA policy on CSR conforms to these guidelines.
