All the port area including areas under the private container terminals are provided with access routes for pedestrians & vehicles properly identified, demarcated, illuminated and signposted. All the Terminals are following disaster recovery plan and various safety measures.

NhavaSheva Free Port Terminals (NSFT)

JNPA has signed the concession agreement with M/s. Nhava Sheva Free Port Terminal Pvt. Ltd. (Joint venture between J. M. Baxi & CMA Terminals) on 29th July, 2022   for ‘Upgradation, Operation and Maintenance & Transfer of JNPCT through private sector participation. NSFT has commenced operations from 11th February, 2023.

Nhava Sheva International Container Terminal (NSICT-DP World)

In view of continuous growth in container traffic and meeting the growing demand for business community and trade partners to have additional facilities for handling the same, the Port introduced private participation and invited global tenders for the first time in India to develop new Container Terminal to augment its container handling capacity.

JN Port entered into a license agreement on 3rd July 1997 with M/s. Nhava Sheva International Container Terminal (NSICT) led by M/s. P & O Ports, Australia, for construction, operation and management of a new 2-berth container terminal on BOT basis for a period of 30 years. The same was Commissioned in April 1999. The project comprises construction of 600 metres quay length; reclamation of 25.84 hectares of area backup for container yards and requisite container handling equipment along with other related facilities. The Present Capacity of the Terminal is currently assessed as 20.5 million tonnes per year.

NSICT-DP World

APM Terminals (GTI-APM Terminals)

Gateway Terminals India (GTI) is a joint venture between APM Terminals and the Container Corporation of India Ltd (CONCOR) operates the third container terminal at Jawaharlal Nehru Port.  License Agreement signed on 10th August 2004 for redevelopment of Bulk Terminal to Container Terminal at Jawaharlal Nehru Port on a build, operate and transfer (BOT) basis for a period of 30 years. It commenced operations in March 2006.

Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal (BMCT)

BMCT - Fourth Container Terminal is developed on a Design, Build, Fund, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis for the concession period of 30 years. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 7915 Crores. The work was awarded to M/s Bharat Mumbai Container Terminals Pvt. Ltd. (the subsidiary of Port of Singapore Authority) at the Revenue Share of 35.790%. The Concession Agreement was signed on 6th May 2014.

The project is to be implemented in two Phases. i.e Phase –I and Phase –II. The indicative cost of the project for Phase – I is Rs. 4,719 Crores and for Phase-II is 3,196 Crores. The total capacity addition would be 4.8 Million TEUs, 2.4 Million TEUs in each phase.

The Concession Agreement signed on 19th June, 2013 for implementing standalone container handling facility with a quay length of 330 mtrs. towards North end at JNPT on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis for container handling operations through private sector.
